අප ජීවත් වන්නේ ඉතා වේගයෙන් ඉදිරියට යන ලෝකයකයි. මෙම අදිවේගි සමාජය නවීන තාක්ෂණය නිසා තවදුරටත් සංකීර්ණ වූ ගෝලීය සමාජයක් බවට පරිවර්ථනය වෙමින් පවතිනවා. මෙවන් වූ යුගයක කිසිම ජාතියක හෝ සමාජ කොට්ඨාෂයක අනන්යයතාවය පවත්වාගැනීම විශාල අභියොගයක්.
මේ සංකීර්ණ සමාජය තුල විදේශගත වූ ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයන් වන අප සුලගට අසු වූ තණපලයක් සේ සංස්කෘතික, සමාජ අගයන් හා සිරිත් විරිත් කුනාටුවක අතරමං වී ඇත්දැයි සාධාරණ සැකයක් මතු වේ. මෙම ශ්‍රී ලාංකික සංස්කෘතිය, පාරම්පරික සමාජ අගයන්, සිරිත් විරිත් හා අනන්‍යතාවය පවත්වාගෙන යාම වැදගත් කර සලකන විදේශගත වූ ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයන් ඒ සදහා නොනවතින අරගලයක නිරත වී සිටී.
මෙවන් වූ සමාජයක හනමිටි කාරයෙකු නොවී, ශ්‍රී  ලංකාවටම අනන්‍යය සංස්කෘතිය, සම්ප්‍රදායික කලාව, ඉතිහාසය හා සිරිත් විරිත් මතු පරපුරට ගෙනයීම ලෙහෙසි පහසු ව්‍යාපාරයක් නොවේ.  “මණ්ඩප ශ්‍රී ලාංකික සංසදය”  එම කර්‍ථව්‍යයට උරදීමට කැප වූ සහර්දවයන්ගේ එකමුතුවකි.
මණ්ඩප ශ්‍රී ලාංකික සංසදයේ අරමුණ වන්නේ අපගෙ කලාව, ඉතිහාසය, සංස්කෘතිය පිලිබදව විදෙස්ගත ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයන් අතර උද්යොගයේ නව පුලිගුවක් දැල්වීමයි. එම උද්යොගය අපගේ අභිමානය, සහොදරත්වය හා ජාතික අනන්‍යතාවය වර්ධනය කොට, සිංහල, දෙමල, යෝනක සහ බර්ගර් ආදී සියලු ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයන් එකමුතු කරවන මන්ත්රරයක් බවට පත්කෙරුම අපගෙ මතු දැක්මයි. අප සංසදයේ කටයුතු නිසා එක් විදෙස්ගත ශ්‍රී ලාංකික දරුවෙක් හෝ දැරියක් අපගේ ඉතිහාසය, සංස්කෘතිය, සම්ප්‍රදායික කලාව තුල ඇති අපූර්වත්වය, සුන්දරත්වය හා අනයෝන්‍යයතාවය හොදින් හදුනා ගතහොත් අපගෙ මේ ප්රයත්නය සැබෑ වූවා වේ.

What we want to do

• To make platform to bring in knowledgeable, respected personal to present the ideologies and concepts to Sri Lankan expact community.
• Provide a platform for discovery, debate and discussion that is backed by rich knowledge base of experts
• Develop a repository of the history, culture , folklore and Arts that and ensure that knowledge remains among the population (Not only in books)
• Develop interest for the language (sinhala/thamila)  and the language heritage
• Encourage the Expatriate Sri Lankans to take-up the traditional arts, folklore and practices so they get enshrined in the hearts of next generations
• Promote the future generations of Sri Lankans to take forward fluency in traditions, language and culture of the Sri Lanka

How we want to do

• Organize periodic events that would bring in Sri Lankan academia, Free thinkers, artists and Cultural/historical experts to present their knowledge ideas and skills
• Develop a website that would provide as an Platform to get together, consolidate and disseminate the Message to all Sri Lankans and expats

How we operate

• A not for profit organization. No formal organization structure.  A group of people getting together to do something.
• Generate sufficient income to take forward the initiatives.  Any one organize an event under the Mandapa umbrella would have to pledge that all the profits that was generated through such events are used to create more awareness programs
• No specific affiliation for Ethnic communities. However, the events are encouraged to be handled in Sinhala and/or Tamil to promote the language.
• It’s Ok to conduct Sinhala focused, Tamil focused, Muslim focused events, however none of the events can be “Exclusively” for one community group
• Always listen to the other side
